Hearts and Flowers

In this task there will be a rectangular box in the center of the screen. At stipulated intervals, HEARTS or FLOWERS will appear on one side of the box. Each time a HEART or a FLOWER appears, a designated button has to be pressed. You need to choose two keys on the keyboard to do the task. There are three segments in this task.

The first segment: Hearts Only

When a HEART appears, a designated button on the SAME side as the HEART must be pressed. If the HEART is on the right side, you should press the designated button located on the right side. HEARTS will appear on either side and/or in a random order, i.e. they may switch back and forth or they may appear on one side several times in a row.

The second segment: Flowers Only

When a FLOWER appears, the designated button on the OPPOSITE side as the FLOWER must be pressed. So if the FLOWER is on the right side, a designated button on the left side has to be pressed. (It could be the control key or the enter key). FLOWERS will appear on either side and/or in a random order, i.e. they may switch back and forth or they may appear on one side several times in a row.

The third segment: Hearts and Flowers

This task is a combination of both HEARTS and FLOWERS. In this segment HEARTS or FLOWERS can appear. One must remember to press the same side, if a HEART appears and the opposite side if a FLOWER appears.
